The aim of the department is to raise child development specialists who are competent in making and raising awareness in the society about evaluating all developmental areas of children in a versatile way, preparing programs suitable for their developmental levels, following the development of the child in different areas, making new arrangements, preparing educational programs, providing consultancy and cooperation to families, people who provide services in the field of child development, institutions and organizations. Our students who graduated from our department;

• They evaluate children at risk, who show typical/atypical development from birth to the end of adolescence, who have acute and chronic diseases. They plan developmental, behavioral, and educational goals regarding the needs of the child based on the developmental evaluation.
• They prepare a program to support the development of the child`s needs, run this program, keep a report and follow it.
• They evaluate the problems encountered and unforeseen in child development practices by examining the national and international level, they offer solutions based on evidence and research and explain the relevant events and facts with scientific methods and techniques.
• They provide consultancy services to families, conduct clinical interviews, and report the results of the meetings to the required councils and committees.
• They cooperate with other healthcare professionals who watch the child. They determine the environmental conditions that may affect the development of the child positively or negatively and make suggestions on the organization of suitable conditions.
• They are aware of social, scientific, cultural and ethical values.
