Childhood years are critical years for personal development. In these years, it is necessary to offer children suitable conditions and support their development. Child development specialists are the people who take an active role in child health monitoring, provide service to the child and family, evaluate and support children who at risk (in need of protection, refugee, immigrant, etc.), show typical/atypical development between the ages of 0-18, and have acute and chronic diseases. Hence, child development specialists have an important role in children`s lives.

Our department was established in 2011 within the structure of Çankırı Karatekin University Health Faculty with the decision of the Higher Education Council in order to bring in child development specialists who undertake important tasks such as reveal the development of children in different areas who form the basis of the society, to support them in every way, to guide families and educators in this regard, and to raise awareness of the society.  Our department continues its educational activities within the Faculty of Health Sciences since 2019.

Our students take both theoretical and applied courses during their education. It is especially aimed with practical lessons that our students learn professional knowledge about child development by doing and experiencing. Our students who graduated from the child development undergraduate program  with the ``Child Development specialist``  title, work in the fields of health, social, education and other sectors within the scope of their duties, powers and responsibilities.

We are ready to give all kinds of support to our students, and we welcome our department, in order to entrust our children as the guarantee of our future to "child development specialists" who have high quality professional qualifications.
