Being a Child Developmentist Event was Held in the Hospital

“Being a Child Developmentist in the Hospital” Çankırı Karatekin University Faculty of Health Sciences Child Development Department Lecturer Dr. Instructor It was organized by its member, Güzin Yasemin TUNÇAY, for the students to have information about the hospital application and to convey the experiences of the students who are currently practicing. The event was held on 17 May 2023 at 15:00 via zoom.
Within the scope of the event, Head of Child Development Department Assoc. Dr. Nazan KAYTEZ mentioned that the child development specialist has an important role in the hospital and mentioned that the Child Development worker is an indispensable part of the health team. Afterwards, Begüm EVİRGEN, who works as a child development specialist in the hospital and is also a graduate student in the Child Development Department, talked about what she did within the scope of her profession and gave examples related to this. Apart from this, he gave examples from his colleagues working in another hospital he was in contact with. Begüm EVİRGEN talked about the positive effects on the child`s development and treatment in the future, with interviews that sometimes take up to an hour with a child and his family. Afterwards, Zeynep ÖZDOĞAN and Ayşegül KATIRCI, 3rd year child development undergraduate students, presented a research on the subject and shared their experiences from the Hospital and Child 2 application. With this activity, it is aimed to inform child development students about what they can do in the hospital as one of their fields of study.
