Orff-Schulwerk Music and Movement Pedagogy workshop, which is a world-renowned music education approach, was organized by Çankırı Karatekin University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Child Development Department. Organized by Orff-Schulwerk educator Gül Bölücek on May 27, 2022 at Child Development Laboratories with the participation of 32 students, the workshop lasted more than 4 hours and our students had the chance to experience Orff instruments personally. The Orff Schulwerk Approach combines music, dance and verbal communication with an interdisciplinary perspective, likening it to a child`s game world. Developed in the 1920s by German composers Carl Orff and Gunild Keetman, the approach is preferred today for children to receive education in a natural and comfortable environment, and it remains up-to-date. Child Development Department students who received Orff-Schulwerk education stated that they learned one of the most important approaches in child development and education by having fun and they felt more equipped. The workshop event ended with our students receiving Certificate of Achievement.
